Sail /mend with us!
Join Captains Hekima Hapa and Kate Sekules on board the beautiful Manhattan II as we sail round the iconic sights of NYC. Learn new mending skills from top experts, or just bring your mend pile, eat, drink, be merry, and be part of history. As well as the most splendid mending, you can expect entertainments, guests and surprises galore. This is not only the world’s first mendathon it’s also the biggest! (Guinness World Record status pending)
We know mendathons. Record to date: 125, but we’re going large… ON A BOAT
mending in a group is great
Mending on a boat is extra. Hekima and Kate run the monthly Darn It! at the Textile Arts Center Brooklyn, with the artist Martina Cox. Both have been hosting multiple mending clubs, groups, classes, and circles for over a decade. We know how to maximize the fun. Think of it as “menditation,” only louder.
